Bees In Love

Things have changed. Mark and I used to talk for hours about philosophy, life, religion, racing, blah blah blah. Now we conspire to uncover the identity of the bee mascot at Old Country Buffet. Early on I wrote about our first experience at OCB and Divina's initial enamoration with "the Bee." We have returned to the buffet at least once a week since then. We always shoot for Thursday Family Night when "the Bee" makes his appearance. We did not go on Thursday last week. We went on Saturday. As we pulled into the parking lot, Divina pointed at the restaurant and began chanting "bee bee bee." Then we went inside. At the entrance we were met by a young waitress who was very excited to see us. She said "the Bee" was very disappointed that we were not there on Thursday and that we are expected to be there next Thursday, for sure. We assured her that we would come and we told her about Divina's chant as we pulled up. She placed her hand on her heart and said "ohh." When Mark and I sat at the table we exchanged knowing looks. We are sure she is "the Bee" and are getting such satisfaction at this. Are we sick?

Divina calls all flying bugs bees: flies, beatles, butterflys. Last week Mark was mowing the lawn when a swarm of bees came out of the ground and harrassed him. They were bumble bees, so didn't pose much of the threat. They are slow fliers...probably why they are called bumble bees...they bumble along. Well, we called an exterminator and had the bees terminated. He was a real hoot. I was so impressed with his outfit that I ran out with the camera to record the event. He made this "hero" pose for me. I gave him a fudge bar. Mark says I was flirting. Could bee.
