Bubbles Cause Shoe Purchase

Mark plays a game with Divina sometimes. She stands on the coffee table or kitchen counter and he encourages her to count "one, two, three, jump!" She bends her knees and springs from the high surface into his arms. This is why I was alarmed when she one-two-three-ed while standing on the platform in the bubble thingy at the Children's Discovery Museum. It's this disk kids stand on while their parents pull a hula hoop over their heads making a bubble. The bubble stuff is in a moat surrounding the disk. Divina was standing on this disk when she got the notion to jump off it. She did not jump off it, but sort of slid sideways into the soap moat. Drenched waist to toe on her right side, she stood looking dumbfounded. How could that have not possibly worked? The lady working the museum helped be clean her up. Alas, the more we wiped the suddsier she got. I removed her shoe only to find her sock completely encased in foam. She spent the rest of the day in her onesie. We bought new shoes today.
