Went swimming today. First time Divina was in a pool. She really liked it, but it was cold, cold, cold. The YMCA heats the pools to 86 degrees, not warm enough. We lasted fifteen glorious minutes.
Our friend, Ben, is in town. We met Ben and his lovely wife Allison when we lived in Connecticut. Ben worked for Skip Barber Racing School with Mark. We lived in the apartment above Ben and Allison in Norfolk. A week after we moved in there was a knock at our door. It was Ben standing there all bundled up and towing a sled. He said "You want to come out and play?" So began our friendship. So Ben is in town and I was thrilled to visit with him last night. I noticed something about him that a few people have commented about me. Since becoming parents, it seems that people (well, at least Ben and me) develop an aire of relaxed confidence. They seem at ease with themselves. Calm, yet happy. This, apparently is how I appear to people. It's also how I feel. I am happy to see it in Ben.
