Stupid Fireman Show Keeps Me Up At Night

Here I am, up all night. There were times when I was up all night doing adult things, get my drift? These days I'm telling myself jokes. Does this happen to you? You might be watching TV or just, apparently sitting, doing nothing, when all the sudden you give a snort. You've told yourself a joke but you can't explain the joke to anyone else becasue there was this whole mental process that led to the joke and it's one of those "you had to be there" things but the "there" is all in your head. Tonight I started thinking about the fireman show (actually called "The Big Test" but all the moms call it the fireman show) at Legoland...why? becasue I've seen the damn thing 26 times and recalled the actors names while googling and found the myspace thingy for one of them. There's this bit where Vern, the volunteer fireman whose afraid of heights, hangs precariously off the ladder while it's spinning around and he struggles to stay up there. Then he gets all inspired and sort of embodies Superman. It's histarical. The actors always make the best expressions when this happens! All determined and confident. "Da da ta da!" Oh man, I can't stop thinking about it.

You might be thinking "why on earth has this woman seen this thing 26 times?" I'll tell you why. Because Legoland is 10 minutes from our house and we have a membership. We go there once a week. We'd go more, but I don't want to appear crazy. Right? Seeing the fireman show is the last thing we do there and then it's naptime. It's become such a ritual that when we are leaving the show Divina always turns to me and says "It's naptime." This can be nothing but good. Except for tonight when its bedtime.
