There have been some phone calls lately about what to get for who for Christmas. I find it so hard to answer these questions anymore. Here's what I REALLY want for Christmas: find a charity, one that represents your values, or, better yet, mine and send them a donation in leiu of a gift to me. Send me a card and tell me about the charity you picked. That would make me very happy.
OR help me with my mission. I just received my order from PETA of little leaflettes to give to people. I think I got 100 or so for $2.50. It's a list of companies that do not test their products on animals. There are little dots beside companies whose products are totally vegan, too (no animal products at all - eggs, honey, bees wax.) It's meant to be kept in your wallet to use while your are shopping. You could order some and hand them out. It's $2.50! I'm going to ask to put them in the Sunday bulletins at our fellowship and the info rack. ***By the way, Bath & Body Works is on their "good" list. Do I hear angels singing?***
Mark and I are talking about sending money to a charity instead of buying gifts for everyone, too.

Ah yes, the Xmas Wish List season o' materialism is upon us. We are of similar minds on the issue; I posted something about this too, though I wasn't so nice about the Wish List issue (even though I know some grandparents and others are just trying to be helpful by asking for a list).
It is greatly fantastic that you, instead of stooping to miserable angst as I did on my blog, have positive and concrete suggestions here! :D
I will definitely check PETA's website for some other good charities. Thank you for picking my spirits up tonite.
Surfing by from the Meyerific life( I think)...Lots of different things goin on, I think I need that vegan info and the PETA link...I need to let loose a few bad habits.
