We're moving again. That's why I haven't posted lately. We've been online looking for houses. Our plan is to buy a house, unseen, while we are here in California, so that when we arrive in South Bend, IN in late March we can just move in. Good plan. Yeah, we are going to buy a house on the internet. Ha! We'll send my relatives to take picutres of prospective houses and to tour the neighborhoods. We move so often that we just aren't that set on buying a house for life anymore.
For those familiar with the market in California you will like to know that a 1500 to 2000 square foot, 4 bedroom, two car garage, 1/2 acre yard, house will cost around $130,000 to $150,000. Property taxes between $1000 and $2000 per year. Nanny-nanny-boo-boo! ... Ah, but we'll sacrifice the Wild Animal Park, Legoland, the OCEAN, and sunshine.

So bummed now--didn't know you all were going to be moving. But, I must say--congratulations on being able to buy a home. I am so excited for you! Sounds like Divina will have a yard to play in?
That is what we are hurting for right now...got no yard for the little one. All this sunshine, but we gotta drive everywhere to play.
Malc will be eligible for retirement in about 3 years and it's likely we will be moving east at that time, too. Or north, as far north as we can go :D

Hmmm...that is awfully soon. I thought it would have atleast been later in the year. Oh well such is life. And about the prices it's madness over here as you already know. I am not going to tell you the square footage on this house nor the price because we are embarassed. And guess what, we're not renting(SURPRISE), but we do have a small yard and I can plant stuff in the backyard. Our immediate neighbours are friendly and I could have sworn the woman had a trinidadian accent.
SO I got an early present. He's a very secretive man. I wonder what all else he is planning.
I MUST have been a good girl this year.
