Lot's of Space

The movers came. The apartment is very empty. Tonight we are sleeping on the floor. Well, Divina is sleeping on her matress, on the floor. Have you ever noticed how dirty carpets get under furniture or where the sweeper doesn't reach. It's reallly very scary.

I'm worried for Mark because he will be driving the car out this week. The weather is pretty bad in some places along the way. Our moving truck driver gave him a route that might help keep him in good weather longer. It's something like 200 miles longer than the shortest route, but he could save himself days by avoiding being stuck in a snow storm.

The cats are beside themselves.

Divina refused her nap today. The bizarrness of living in an empty house, no doubt. So I was faced with entertaining an almost-3-year-old for three hours until dinner time with no toys, no TV, no furniture, no paints, no...anything. We got a bag of balloons. It was a regular party! I've got loads of kids music on the computer, so we danced, and chased, and threw balloons up in the air, and popped balloons under our feet. Truly, there's nothing quite like an empty room full of balloons and music!

So, tomorrow is the airplane or "arr-plane" as Divina say's it. Divina is going to sit in the regular seat with no car seat. I've got two carry on bags this time and our winter coats. Can't carry all that and a car seat down the isle of the plane. See, you've always got to think ahead. Of course, I'll have the stroller, too. I predict that at some point she will decide it's time to get out exactly when the seatbelt light goes on. Somehow she will know just what she is NOT supposed to do and have a sudden urge to do just that. Sigh.

Oh, the excitement! What a big move! The house looks wonderful... whole new way of life with lots of room.
Thank goodness for blogs. I hope we can continue stay in touch "virtually."
Have a safe and hopefully unstressful flight (and drive) back East.
Waving goodbye from Southern California...we will miss you so much.
