The Best Reward

Last night I was feeling up to doing Divina's hair. For the past few days she's been wearing two poms on either side of her head, which allows her hair to dry out and get tangled. Not good. I hadn't felt up to combing and sectioning it as I should. So last night she got twists and beads. This time I used seven beads on each twist, no the five I'd used before, creating a much longer look. She and Mark watched The Wiz as I worked. When it was finished, I told her to take a look in the bathroom mirror. She stepped up to it. When she saw herself she inhaled loudly and said "Thank you, Mommy!" She smiled so big and shook her head to admire the beads swinging around her head and listened to the pretty clicking sound they make. Now that's what makes a mommy feel good.
