We've found yet another frog in our yard. This one is much different than the very tiny babies we saw before. This frog looks much like a green leaf on top and tree bark on his belly. Divina loves these guys. They have suction pads on their toes which enable them to leap and stick to whatever surface they land on. Very entertaining. For as much as she adores capturing them in her bucket and watching them on the table, she is heartbroken when its time to set them free. Its a hard lesson, to set something free. I'm so proud of her. Even though I have to explain over and over that living things should be free, she does eventually allow the visitor to return to nature where it will be happy. Her restraint when handling these delicate animals is remarkable.
Here you can see her first glimpse of one and the first timid touch. Then she decides to capture it but it took a liking to her and jumped past the shovel right onto her arm! She was elated, yet she stood perfectly still. I was whispering "hold still, don't move" and she would whisper "he's very delicate."
