Some Things Are Never Forgotten

Tonight Divido has a cold. And was having trouble deciding to be awake or asleep. So I told I would show her something I used to to when she was a baby, a favorite topic as of late. I took her extra soft bed blanket and folded it into a large triangle on the floor. I then placed her on the blanket and swaddled her, as best I could. I hoisted her up and bounced/rocked her in my arms. She yawned. We sat on the couch and I held her close. Then I sang her favorite lullaby from when she was wee tiny, Lavender Blue. In about one minute she was snoring and twitching. It was eight o'clock. Anyone who knows my child is familiar with her 10:30/11 o'clock bedtime. Ha! I've still got the magic touch.

Tomorrow she will sure say how I rocked her to sleep "lasternight". Lasternight. Hee hee.
