I've heard that IQ can be measured in several ways. I'm sure Divina would excel in any of them, especially emotional IQ. Her sensitivity to the feelings of others seems rare for her age. I know I've gone on about this before, but it's really phenomenal. Here's the latest example: On Saturday morning I decided to go to a neighborhood garage sale. I was very excited about this. On the way there I made several wrong turns and had to turn around a lot. The sale included a bunch of houses but the stuff was not so good. And the kids! Just about each house had kids selling lemonade or cookies and they were so annoying! They kept following me around asking if I wanted to buy something. Is it just me or are other people's kids really less cute than our own? Well, I didn't buy anything. The trip was a loss. When I got home I was clearly disappointed. Divina noticed and said "Are you okay?" So I told her all about it. She sat there and listened to me for some time, her head nodding and her eyes on mine. When I was done she put her hand on my knee and said "It's okay, Mommy," and gave me a big hug, patting me on the back. Wow. I'm so proud of her.
After saying that, I should also mention that she is still hitting. Mark is often gets the brunt of that, and her good friend, Christopher. I've resorted to begin reading about bullying and what to do about it. What diabolical combination is that? A genius bully. I've got Lex Luther on my hands.
Here she is at the table, again. I realize that I take a lot of pictures of her at the table. We use it a lot and the stuff she does there is so interesting. Here she is gluing, her latest artistic endeavor.

Can't think of anything witty to call this...

Show Off! Just kidding. Unlike your genius child I get the hug yes but the most I've gotten was an "Okay momma"
Careful now she may love the book so much that she starts doing it a lot. I'm only saying that because Christopher loves all books that have pictures of people crying and who are sad. So you know what he does, he makes his sister cry and says "cry" but wait, then he pats her on the head and says, "okay lala, okay" I have a sick child!
