Update: Fireman show viewing # 27 today.
However, I had the best morning at our fellowship. Mark and Divina stayed home and went swimming. I was treated to attending fellowship by myself...except for the 100 other people that were there. I arrived early to observe the preparations of the service, as it is my new "job" as a Sunday service facilitator. Before and after the service I got to chat and reflect with some other people on the committee (which I happen to be chair of). The engery among this group is so affirming, creative, spiritual, and calmly inspiring. Being around people like this influences me to think more about my purpose in life, my actions, my moods, my effect on people. It centers me and moves me at the same time. At times I miss adult company. Little Miss is always on my mind and under my care (and feet). Today was savorable. I will carry it with me, with care, until the next time.
Brad, also a facilitator, told me a bit about his technique for delivery. His manner of speaking calms people so. He is a tall, large man, yet his manner is so soothing and joyful. When he speaks his words, so carefully...no...spiritually chosen, inspire people to really reflect. His is very powerful. He told me today that he learned from a buddhist (I think) to speak...very...slowly...so...as to...make...your words...seem...very...profound. Wow. That's effective.
Also, I practiced with the singing bowl for a bit. Those who do not know the proper technique tend to tap the side of the bowl with the thingy (like a drum stick). This can be disasterous. It can make a horribly invasive sound, very messy and crude. The bowl is really meant be invited to sing. One runs the "drum stick thingy" around the bowl, pressing firmly and slowly, a vibration begins to resound. It was beautiful! The bowl, brass, vibrated right in my hand in response to my efforts. It hummed this gentle note, then faded as I lessend the pressure. I was amazed that I the sound responded to my invitation. So affirming.
