Today at Legoland, Mark noticed a little girl, about Divina's age or more, walking along and saying "Mama? Mama?" Mark said he thought she was lost. So Divina and I approached her and "no" she didn't know where her mama was. I told Divina to hold her hand and I told the little girl that we could help her find her mama. We walked a bit then I thought to ask Mark to turn back to see if anyone behind was looking for her. Soon Mark appeared with a frantic, grateful dad in tow (who had come up another path). Reunification.
So on the way home I reminded Divina of the girl and Divina reminded me that it's all in a day's work. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Divina, you helped a little girl today, remember?
Divina: Yep.
Me: She was lost and we helped her find her daddy.
Divina: Yep.
Me: You held her hand so she wouldn't be scared.
Divina: She was black just like me. (smile)
Me: Yes, she was. It was very nice of you to hold her hand. That probably made her feel better.
Divina: I farted.
So there you have it.

I think a good deed that doesn't involve at least *some* farting is no good deed, indeed.
BTW this is the second Sunday that I've gotten swept out of church due to some circumstance and didn't get to say hi to you! So can I say hi here?
