The End

It's been, what, two maybe three weeks since she's taken the paci. Some attempts we made were (1) putting hot sauce on it (2) telling her only babies use pacis (3) using it only at nap and bedtime (4) taking it away all together (5) telling her it will ruin her teeth (6) cutting holes in them (7) refusing to retrieve them when dropped, making her get them herself... all failed dismally. Finally, I just stopped buying her new ones. One by one they disintegrated. The last one lasted a remarkable time. The final straw was when she put it in her mouth and it didn't have enough structure to remain horizontal, falling to one side and flopping around. Amazingly, she went to bed that night without it and hasn't demanded it yet. Whew.
