Stop the Press

Okay, scap the adoption plan for now, we are moving to California. You heard it right. Mark's business partner lives in Vista, CA, a northern suburb of San Diego. It has been hard on them working long distance. They work by email, iSight, and lots of FedEx. So, for the advancement of Manifest (www.manifestgroup.com) and our financial security, Mark and Aaron really need to be under the same roof. Here's the plan: get rid of all our unnecessary stuff, have a big moving sale, prepare the house like they do on "Designed to Sell", put the house on the market, and haul what's left of our stuff across the country...again. This means Divina goes to daycare while I paint like hell.

What's really funny about this move is that up until Monday morning I was animately opposed it. I have never been attracted the Sunshine state. Perhaps its all those eerily cheery people and those spooky palm trees. Most of all, it might be because of the lack of seasons and moderate climate. There won't be any first snow falls or tornados. And just what am I supposed to do with earthquakes? This is a mystery to me. Well, I woke up Monday morning, after our trip to Las Vegas, with a renewed sense of adventure and the move doesn't seem so bad after all. We bought a nice book about California and I have almost read it cover to cover. It's beginning to look like a neat place after all. We hope to be there some time in January or so. (This is a picutre I found in Yahoo images of Carlsbad, CA. It's near Vista.)

You'll miss the seasons, but you wont be far from snowy mountains when it gets too unbearable. It's lovely there, and not many people can say they've moved *entirely all the way* across the country, that's certainly cool.
