Feeling Good

Today Mark, Divina, and I walked in the Vista Crop Walk. Thanks to donations from 15 sponsors we raised $310. (That's $250 collected, and another $60 coming if the last two people pay their pledge.) There were 108 walkers total and 7 from our fellowship. I was a beautiful, warm day. The walk was 1.6 miles and took 36 minutes. I can't say the experience was transformative, but it was great to raise so much money. People were so generous! A lot of families will benefit from today's walk.

This morning was good, too. I arrived at fellowship at 8:20am and helped clear out the leftover items from yesterday's auction from the sanctuary. Then the facilitator (MC) for the service forgot about his turn. Understandably. He had a very tuff week. Anyway, I stepped up and did the welcome at the last minute. That felt pretty good. A few weeks ago I would have been floored by such a thing, not feeling comfortable yet. But it went over well, I think.

Serendipity is my friend. When I started this vegetarian thing a month ago I had no idea what benefits it would have, other than conscious. I feel so much better than I did before I started. My knees don't hurt anymore. I lost some weight. I have much more energy. I can get up off the floor without grunting. And I'm happier. Mark has noticed the difference in me, too. It turns out the hormones and chemicals in meat can make you feel awful. I have to believe it's mojo, too. The animal lives a terrible life, you eat it, you feel terrible. Who knew?

You lost weight? From where? You certainly didn't look like you had any weight to lose. Did it come off from maybe a finger or a toe? Hehehehe......I am glad the walk was a success!

That's what I say, too! But congratulations on feeling better and keeping true to your principles.

You were so graceful and natural up there yesterday, if the program didn't give another name as the presenter I would not have known you weren't already scheduled.
